AN EXCITING new publication is set to launch on the Leicester news scene this Spring, providing a weekly platform for ‘ordinary people with extraordinary stories’ in the city and beyond.
The Leicester Times is a bold and vibrant new venture by Romail Gulzar, founder of the Pukaar Group, which has brought a quarterly magazine called Pukaar Magazine and online news platform Pukaar News to the city for the past ten years as well as providing broadcast news services for national outlets including the ITV News and BBC.
The brand new weekly newspaper is set to hit shelves this Spring, showcasing Leicester’s diverse and vibrant population, and providing a platform for local people with stories which deserve to be heard.
As well as taking the form of a printed publication, the newspaper will also have an online presence, providing readers with a mix of business, planning, crime and sport stories, as well as those centred around success and human interest, something which Pukaar is passionate about.
This is reflected in the newspaper’s tagline; ‘ordinary people with extraordinary stories.’
“We want to provide a platform for those inspiring individuals who deserve to be seen – and heard,” said Romail Gulzar, who alongside Pukaar Magazine, is well known for bringing events to the city such as ‘Leicester’s Got Talent’ and the popular ‘Leicester Curry Awards.’
“We want to deliver real life stories that people care about, putting the heart back into news and providing a place for those voices to be heard.
“It’s something I’m very excited about and we have something very special planned for the launch which will be revealed in due course,” he added.
“We look forward to serving the community with stories in the very near future, and hope you will join us on this new and very exciting new venture!”
As well as providing informative and engaging articles, The Leicester Times will also serve as the city’s source for upcoming events, openings and other exciting developments.
