Teenager charged following appeal to locate stolen Leicester puppies

A teenage boy has been charged with burglary after two dogs were stolen from a home in Leicester.

Police said the Staffordshire bull terriers – a 12 week old boy and girl – were still missing after being being taken from a house in Helena Crescent at about 20:45 BST on 22 June.

The puppies had been playing in the back garden when they were taken.

Following a number of enquiries, a 14-year-old boy – who cannot be named for legal reasons – has been charged in connection with this offence. He appeared at Leicester Magistrates’ Court yesterday (Tuesday 16 July) and has been bailed until his next court appearance.

Officers are still trying to locate the puppies and ask anyone who may have seen them or knows of their whereabouts to come forward.

Detective Constable Phoebe Whittington, the investigating officer, said: “A teenager has been charged with burglary in relation to this offence, but the puppies are still missing. If you recognise them from the pictures or have seen them for sale, please report it to us.”
