Thousands of runners will be heading to Leicester on Sunday 2nd March for one of the region’s biggest and best-loved charity road runs, the Leicester 10K.
The event is expected to raise tens of thousands of pounds for a number of good causes including the event’s official partner charities; Emmaus, George Eliot Hospital Charity, the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, , LAMP (Leicestershire Action for Mental Health Project), Leicester City in the Community and Leicester Tigers Foundation.

The event organisers Jane Tomlinson’s Run For All, are now informing runners, spectators, residents, businesses and visitors that a number of road closures and restrictions will be in place to ensure the safety of all those taking part.
The 10K race starts in the heart of the city centre at 09:00. Starting at Jubilee Square, runners will head through the city centre before heading into the beautiful greenery of Victoria Park.
The scenic landscape of the park will then weave runners through the University of Leicester before passing many of the city’s landmarks including the Leicester Museum & Art Gallery and Leicester Cathedral. Participants will then head back towards the city centre for the electric finish line on Jubilee Square.
The event will require the closure of roads and road junctions as well as the suspension of a number of Traffic Regulation Orders between 05:00 and 13:00 on Sunday 2nd March 2025.
The event will also require a number of parking suspensions from 16:00 on Saturday 1st March 2025 to 13:00 on Sunday 2nd March 2025.
Road closures will begin at 05:00 around Jubilee Square with the rest of the closures on route enforced for 08:15. The final closures on route will be re-opened at 11:30 with Jubilee Square re-opened for 13:00.
Roads affected will include: A594 St George’s Way, A5894 Waterloo Way, A6 London Road, Belvoir Street, Bishop Street, De Montfort Street, Granby Street, Granville Road, Grey Friars, Horsefair Street, Hotel Street, Market Place, Market Place South, Mayors Walk, New Street, Peacock Lane, Regent Road, St Martins, University Road and Welford Road. Please note that only one lane of London Road and Welford Road is closed whilst Victoria Park Road is completely open as runners will use the cycle path.

All road closures will be lifted as soon as the safety of runners, spectators and visitors can be assured.
