Fun, free Salsa class for Leicester’s over 55s

Leicester’s over 55s are invited to try Salsa Dancing at a fun, free dance class at Age UK’s Clarence House.

The free Salsa Dancing class on February 27, is part of First Time for Everything, a community health and wellbeing programme designed by Royal Voluntary Service. First Time for Everything is supported by players of People’s Postcode Lottery and gives people opportunities to try something new for free, to socialise and be active, particularly those that might be older or less mobile.

Royal Voluntary Service is celebrating Let’s Dance, the UK’s biggest ever dance event (#LetsDance), founded by Angela Rippon OBE. Angela is on a mission to get the UK dancing regularly for fitness, fun and friendship. Dance organisations, charities, health professionals, community groups and celebrities are getting involved, with Let’s Dance events being planned across the UK

Local dance instructor Ginnette Brookes will lead the Salsa class which is designed for complete beginners and is open to all. Light refreshments are available. The venue and event are fully accessible, and all are welcome.

The class will take place at midday on Thursday, February 27 at Age UK Clarence House on Humberstone Gate.
