A man has been charged following an incident in which five pedestrians were struck by a car in Leicester.
Leicestershire Police responded to reports in the early hours of Saturday on De Montfort Street, where four men and one woman sustained injuries.

Gurwinder Singh, 28, of Gwendolen Road, Leicester, has been charged with four counts of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and one count of attempted grievous bodily harm with intent. He is scheduled to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
Two other Leicester men who were arrested in connection with the incident have been released on police bail pending further investigation. A 31-year-old man was held on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and causing serious injury by dangerous driving, while a 34-year-old was arrested on suspicion of affray.
Police have updated the number of people involved from an earlier report of four. A spokesperson confirmed that two of the injured pedestrians remain in hospital in stable condition, receiving treatment for serious injuries.
