Europe’s biggest South Indian food festival, the Ajmi Malabar Food Festival, is returning to Leicester this summer at The City of Leicester College.
Following the success of last year’s event, which welcomed around 5,000 attendees, organisers are expecting over 8,000 visitors at this year’s event, which takes place on Sunday, 6th July.

The family-friendly festival promises a vibrant celebration of Kerala’s rich culinary and cultural heritage – with an array of South Indian dishes, live cooking shows, traditional performances, kids’ activities, and much more.
“From crispy dosas to aromatic biryanis, and from traditional dance performances to engaging workshops, there’s something for everyone,” said a spokesman for the event, which is sponsored by Malabar Gold & Diamonds.
“This is more than just a food festival – it’s a celebration of community, heritage, and the culinary treasures of Southern India. So, mark your calendars, bring your appetite, and come celebrate in style!”
The family-friendly event also features a dedicated kids’ zone and interactive activities, making it an ideal day out for all ages.
The event takes place between 11am and 7pm with early bird tickets priced at £3.
