A local bus operator is enhancing its services by extending one of its key routes—Service 18—between Fosse Park and Leicester City Centre, operating seven days a week.
The extended route, which will run via Hinckley Road and Braunstone, is designed to improve local connectivity and offer a convenient alternative for shoppers facing parking challenges at Fosse Shopping Park, according to First Bus.

The enhanced service will launch on Sunday, 13 July, with increased daytime frequency. Buses will run every 20 minutes on weekdays and Saturdays, and every 40 minutes on Sundays. Additional late-evening journeys on weekdays and Saturdays will also be introduced, making it easier for passengers to travel between the city centre and Fosse Park throughout the day.
Passengers from other parts of Leicester can connect to Service 18 at St Margaret’s Bus Station, St Peter’s Lane, Causeway Lane, or St Nicholas Circle.
Paul Townley, Commercial Director at First Bus Leicester, said: “We are pleased to be extending Service 18 to improve local connectivity in the area, making travel easier for communities across Leicester.
Fosse Park attracts a significant number of visitors daily, and this extended service offers a reliable, comfortable alternative to driving. Our buses are spacious, equipped with USB charging, and provide a congestion-friendly travel option for our passengers.”
