A 13-year-old girl, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has also been charged with four counts of theft from a shop and bailed to appear at Leicester Youth Court next month.
The operation was carried out by B-Shift Response and Beat teams, supported by Fosse Park security and retail staff. Officers praised the collaborative effort that led to the swift arrests and recovery of stolen stock.
The swift response was part of a joint operation involving B-Shift Response and Beat teams, who worked alongside Fosse Park security and retail staff to bring the offenders to justice.
PC Meg and PC Jason, who were involved in the operation, praised the teamwork and vigilance that led to the arrests.
“This was an excellent example of partnership work between our officers, Fosse Park security, and local retailers,” said PC Meg. “We’re pleased to see stolen stock returned to the stores and those responsible held accountable.”
A police spokesperson added a light-hearted reminder for would-be shoplifters: “If you’re planning a shopping spree at Fosse Park — make sure you pay for it.”
