Leicester to host Good Friday Walk of Witness through city centre

Christians and members of the public in Leicester are being invited to take part in a traditional Walk of Witness this Good Friday (3 April), marking one of the most significant dates in the Christian calendar.

The event will begin at 9.30am in Victoria Park, with participants walking together through the city before arriving at the Clock Tower at approximately 11.15am. A public celebration is set to follow in the city centre.

Organisers say the event is open to everyone, offering an opportunity for people of all backgrounds to come together and reflect during the Easter period.

Good Friday commemorates the crucifixion of Jesus Christ, a central belief in Christianity, with worshippers reflecting on his death ahead of celebrations of his resurrection on Easter Sunday.

The Walk of Witness is a long-standing tradition in many towns and cities across the UK, bringing together churches and communities in a shared act of remembrance and faith.
