A resident at an Oadby home celebrated his 100th birthday with a party surrounded by close family.
Stanley Ellis lives at MHA Aigburth and had a birthday party arranged by the home, where his two daughters and son were present.
The home prepared a birthday cake along with an afternoon tea which was enjoyed by Stanley and his family.
The coffee bar was decorated with balloons and banners and Stanley’s family bought some flowers for him.
The highlight of the day however was the telegram Stanley received from the king, something he was really proud of.
MHA AIgburth provides residential and residential dementia care for 56 residents.
Sherrill Richards, care assistant said: “Stanley has a great time celebrating his birthday with his family.
“Its his first birthday that he has spent at MHA Aigburth as he only moved into the home in January, but it was a landmark and we had to celebrate it.
“The kitchen staff prepared a lovely cake and an afternoon tea and he was very happy.
“He told me all about the Telegram from the King, which he was very proud to receive.
“It was a lovely day, Stanley had a great time with his family and we were all very happy to host his big day.”
