Connor, who is from Market Harborough in Leicestershire, was reported missing after he was last spotted near the University of Lincoln campus.

His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers. Police have said there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death.

In a statement, officers asked members of the public and media to respect the family’s privacy during what they described as an “extremely difficult time”.

Police also thanked everyone who shared appeals and came forward with information during the search.

Earlier this week, Lincolnshire Police had renewed their appeal for information as concerns for Connor’s welfare grew. Officers released a new photograph and CCTV image showing Connor near Court 1 on the University of Lincoln campus at 2:09am on Sunday 11 January.

Connor was described as having short wavy brown hair and was last seen wearing a blue jumper with red and white stripes on the sleeve, blue jeans and white trainers.

Members of the public had been urged to check CCTV, dashcam and doorbell footage, as police maintained a heightened presence in the area while searches continued.

No further details have been released at this stage.
