FATAL COLLISION IN THURMASTON

A motorcyclist has died following a two-vehicle collision in Thurmaston.

The incident happened in Melton Road at the junction with Manor Road, last Wednesday (May 11) and involved a blue Suzuki motorcycle and a grey Ford Focus Zetec.

The motorcyclist, a 32-year-old man, was taken to hospital following the incident, which happened at around 5.27pm.

Sadly, he died of his injuries in hospital on Sunday (May 14).

No other injuries were reported following the incident, which is currently being investigated by officers from Leicestershire Police.

They are appealing got anyone with any information in relation to the collision to make contact.

“The collision happened just before 5.30pm, when traffic in the area would have been busy, including people making their way home from work”, said detective Anita Rose, from the force’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit.

“Please think back to if you were in the area at the time and anything you may have seen. Did you witness the collision? Or did you see either of the vehicles travelling prior to the collision? Do you have any dashcam footage which could assist us?”
