Firefighters were called into action after three fox cubs became trapped behind a garage wall at a Leicester home.
While many people were enjoying the bank holiday weekend (Sunday, April 6), a Technical Rescue Team from Southern Station responded to reports of an animal in distress at a property in Letchworth Road.

Crews could hear movement behind the wall and, with the homeowner’s permission, carefully removed sections of brickwork to investigate. Inside, they discovered three fox cubs trapped between two buildings.
All three animals were safely rescued. One cub required oxygen therapy, which firefighters administered using a specialist mask designed for small animals.
The cubs were later handed over to the RSPCA for further care and treatment.
Fire crews described the rescue as a “fantastic result” and reminded the public not to attempt animal rescues themselves if there is any risk to safety, urging people instead to contact appropriate rescue organisations.
