Leicester came alive this evening as thousands flocked to the Golden Mile to celebrate Diwali 2024. The festival, known for its vibrant displays and joyful atmosphere, did not disappoint, with an array of events that captivated the tens of thousands of people.
The evening began with a spectacular procession featuring traditional music and dance, setting the tone for a night filled with cultural festivities. Participants adorned in colourful costumes paraded through the streets including stilt walkers, globe-lit shows and musical performances.
The Diwali Village was a hive of activity, offering a variety of culinary delights, stalls, and entertainment for all ages including the traditional fire and light display. As dusk settled, the anticipation built for the highlight of the evening—a breathtaking fireworks display that illuminated the sky in a dazzling array of colours, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness.
