Lukasz Albert Strag, a 44-year-old drug dealer from Leicester, who was serving a 20-year sentence for his involvement in an international drug trafficking operation, has passed away.
He died at West Heath Hospital on Friday, January 26. Known by the alias “Roztrzepany,” Strag played a key role in coordinating a narcotics network that smuggled Class A drugs into the UK from mainland Europe.

An inquest into his death was opened and adjourned at Birmingham Coroner’s Court on Thursday, January 30. Strag was linked to trafficking cocaine, MDMA, marijuana, and speed between Poland, Spain, and the Netherlands. Following his conviction, he was instructed to repay over £1.3 million within three months.
A full inquest is scheduled for Monday, July 14. A Prison Service spokesperson confirmed that “HMP Birmingham prisoner Lukasz Strag died in custody on January 26, 2025.”
As with all deaths in custody, the Prisons and Probation Ombudsman will conduct an investigation.
