Enderby Leisure and Golf Centre is set to introduce two new fitness initiatives next week aimed at supporting pre and postnatal mothers.
The centre, operated by award-winning leisure provider Everyone Active in partnership with Blaby District Council, will launch an adult-and-baby fitness class tomorrow (Wednesday, January 14).

The low-impact class is designed to allow mums to exercise while keeping their babies alongside them. Following each session, babies will be able to use the centre’s soft-play facilities at no additional cost. To mark the launch, the first two weeks of classes will be offered free of charge.
Alongside this, the centre will host a pilot programme supporting 10 prenatal mums by offering free swimming sessions. Swimming is widely recognised as a safe and beneficial activity during pregnancy, with water buoyancy helping to reduce strain on joints, ease swelling and provide a gentle yet effective workout.
Both initiatives can be booked via the Everyone Active app and website, or in person at the leisure centre.
James Naylor, Everyone Active’s area contract manager, said: “We are proud to support pre and postnatal mums from the local community and to help them stay active during hugely important months in their lives.
“These new initiatives are very exciting and we are confident they will be a big success. We look forward to welcoming mums to our centre and providing activities that support both physical health and mental wellbeing.”
Emily Booth, development officer for Active Together, which coordinates the Active Mums programme, said the pilot would help remove barriers to exercise for new and expectant mothers.
“At Active Mums Club, we believe every woman deserves the chance to stay active and healthy through pregnancy and into motherhood,” she said. “By making these sessions accessible and affordable, we hope to help mums feel supported, connected and empowered.”
Nick Chapman, Blaby District Council’s portfolio holder for health and community, added: “Keeping active during and after pregnancy can be hugely beneficial for both mum and baby. We are fortunate in Blaby District to have excellent facilities, including an outstanding swimming pool at Enderby Leisure Centre, which can help improve health and wellbeing across our communities.”
Meanwhile, Lutterworth Leisure Centre will also introduce an adult-and-baby fitness class on Wednesday, January 14.
