Specialist officers searching a lake in Thurmaston’s Watermead Park, have today found the body of a man.
Although formal identification has not yet taken place, it is believed to be that of a man seen entering the water on Friday evening (17 June).
Dedicated officers are continuing to provide support to the man’s family at this time.
His death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
“We would like to thank those members of the public who came forward with information and the local community for their support, co-operation and understanding”, said a spokesman for Leicestershire Police, which carried out the four day search.
