A LOUGHBOROUGH drug dealer has been jailed after selling heroin and crack cocaine in the town.
Muhammed Ashpak Chowdhury was sentenced to three-years in jail after admitting to peddling the Class A drugs, before a judge at Leicester Crown Court.
The 27-year-old was arrested at his home address, Bridgeland Road, in December last year, after officers acted on information received in relation to the supply of heroin and crack cocaine.
When officers searched the property, they discovered large quantise of drugs, equipment to prepare the drugs for dealing on the streets and more than £4,000 in cash.
A flat also associated with Chowdhury was searched and burner phones and a live bullet were found in the property.
During his first appearance at Leicester Magistrates Court, Chowdhury pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply class A (heroin), possession with intent to supply class A (cocaine), possession of criminal property and possession of ammunition for a firearm without a certificate.
“This case demonstrates how information received led to the arrest and conviction of an individual for the supply of class A drugs,” said DC Damian Young, the officer who investigated the case.
“Chowdhury had no choice but to plead guilty to the offences and we are pleased that he has taken responsibility for his actions.”
