The race, on Sunday, March 26 takes place around the streets of the historic market town, with runners deciding to pound the pavements for a variety of reasons.

Louise, is running to raise funds for CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably), in memory of two local men, who took their lives at the age of 24.

“As many of you know, my beloved brother in law, Carl, took his own life in 2010 aged just 24 so I am raising money in his memory and also in memory of my lovely friend Michelle’s son Elliot Fenton who they sadly lost three years ago at the same, young age,” she explained on her Crowdfunding page set up to promote her goal.

“Life is increasingly hard these days and mental health services are at breaking point so charities like these are vitally important,” she said of her decision to raise funds for CALM.

“It’s an amazing charity who do amazing work to tackle the rising rates of suicide of this country.

“If I can save just one family from going through what mine and Michelle’s did then it will be so worthwhile.”

Campaign Against Living Miserably, or CALM, is a registered charity, which runs a free, confidential and anonymous helpline as well as a webchat service, offering help, advice and information to anyone who is struggling or in crisis.

Louise, from Anstey, is currently training hard in all weather in preparation for the tough 20 mile challenge.

“I will have Carl, Elliot and all the many others lost to suicide in my thoughts the entire time,” she said ahead of the run. “They will spur me on and keep me going when I feel like giving up.”
