Leicester homeless charity, The Bridge Homelessness to Hope, has signed a new three-year lease on its first house in Leicester to provide accommodation for four homeless guests.
The four-bedroom house is on Briton Street, off Narborough Road in Leicester city centre, and will offer an accommodation option for service users of the charity.

One of the first tenants in The Bridge Homelessness to Hope house has been street homeless or vulnerably housed since he left the family home as a teenager, due to abuse. At one point, he was employed but had to give up supported housing due to cost. When work ended, he was unable to afford rent so went back on the street. He came to see The Bridge Homelessness to Hope after having been offered a council flat which was then withdrawn.
The charity has now given him a room in its new house, offering him increased levels of support and providing him with a stable home.
David Fawcett, Chief Executive at The Bridge Homelessness to Hope, said: “The lease on the new house is part of a long-term strategy to support some of our selected service users by offering the safety, security and stability of managed housing.”
