Residents across Leicester are being invited to take part in a special prize draw offering a rare opportunity to attend an exclusive dress rehearsal of the acclaimed musical Sylvia at Curve, alongside a range of other money-can’t-buy experiences relating to the musical.
Launched by Centenary Action in partnership with the musical Sylvia, the fundraising prize draw forms part of activities marking Women’s History Month. The initiative aims to raise vital funds to support ongoing work to advance gender equality in the UK.

At the heart of the prize draw is a unique Leicester-based experience: the chance of the very special experience of sitting in on the dress rehearsal of the award winning musical at Curve Theatre, offering a rare glimpse into the creative process of a major touring production.
Other prizes include invitations to a London launch event and VIP theatre experiences, including box tickets for the Albert Hall and access to an exclusive post-show party with cast and creatives.
The musical Sylvia tells the story of suffragette Sylvia Pankhurst, charting her fight for women’s rights and social justice over 25 years. The production blends hip hop, funk and soul to bring her story to new audiences.
Helen Pankhurst, who oversees Centenary Action, said: “This campaign is about continuing the fight for equality today while celebrating the legacy of those who came before us. The partnership with Sylvia brings that story to life in a powerful and accessible way.”
Founded in 2018, Centenary Action is a coalition of organisations working to tackle the barriers that still prevent women from full participation in politics and public life, including inequality in representation, cultural bias, and structural challenges.
The Leicester dress rehearsal prize offers a particularly exciting opportunity for local audiences to engage with a major national production before it opens, reinforcing the city’s growing reputation as a hub for world-class theatre.
Members of the public can enter the prize draw via the Centenary Action website, with proceeds supporting campaigns to drive forward gender equality across the UK. The draw takes place throughout March – Women’s History Month – ending on 31st March 2026.
