A TV chef and best selling author from Leicester is inviting residents to join him for an online cookery class, where they can learn how to cook their favourite Chinese Takeaway in ten minutes.
Kwoklyn Wan is hosting an evening of ‘Supersonic Chinese Takeaway Recipes’ on January 28, where he will be teaching his audience how to cook their favourite takeaway meals in ten minutes, from start to finish.
Mr Wan, who is a third-generation restaurateur and brother of fashion fixer Gok, is hosting the online masterclass to celebrate the Chinese New Year and the launch of his new cookbook ’10 Minute Chinese’.
Starting at 6pm, his class will teach viewers how to make a Smoked Chilli Chicken, a Southeast Asian Curry Laksa Soup, and How Sin Noodle’s.
“By the end of the class you’ll come away with plenty of confidence to recreate your very own Chinese Takeaway dishes that taste fantastic and cook in a matter of minutes,” said the chef, who is a regular on Channel 4’s ‘Steph’s Packed Lunch’.
“As we cook, you’ll get a refresher on essential knife skills you need to make these weeknight-friendly dishes quickly and with ease, and I’ll tell you everything you need to know about choosing, cooking with and caring for woks.”
Budding chefs will also get to hear Kwoklyn’s stories of growing up in the kitchens of Chinese takeaways and restaurants, including his dad’s place, ‘The Bamboo House,’ which was Leicester’s first Cantonese restaurant.
