100,000 MUSIC FANS TO DESCEND ON CASTLE DONINGTON

Major roads in Leicestershire are likely to be busy over the weekend due to the popular Download music festival, which will see up to 100,000 pack into Donington Park.

Up to 100,000 fans are expected across the three days of the event, between Friday, June 10 and Sunday, June 12, so motorists are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys in the area, particularly those travelling to catch flights from East Midlands Airport (EMA).

“If you are travelling to East Midlands Airport, Download Festival or travelling from A to B over the next few days, please drive carefully and follow any roadsigns”, said a spokesman.

“Traffic jams are expected in the Castle Donington area so please allow plenty of time for your journey”.
