The family of a woman who died following an incident on Aylestone Road in Leicester last week has paid tribute to her, describing her as “a beautiful, vibrant soul.”
Nila Patel, 56, passed away in hospital on Thursday, 26 June, two days after the incident occurred.
Her children, Jaidan and Danika Patel, shared heartfelt words about their mother, saying:
“We are heartbroken, but we want the world to know who our mum truly was — a beautiful, vibrant soul who deserved so much more.

Mum was one of the most kind-hearted people you could ever meet. Her love wasn’t loud, but it was powerful — shown in warm meals, thoughtful words, and a smile that could light up any room.
She always put others first, offering comfort without ever asking for anything in return. Even during life’s hardest moments, she carried herself with strength, dignity, and a smile.
She was a devoted mother, a loyal friend, and an incredibly hard worker. Whether at home or in her career, she gave everything — never complaining, always giving. She raised us with patience, love, and unwavering support. All we ever wanted was to make her proud.
Mum’s life was full of love. The stories we’ve heard from those who knew her have reminded us just how deeply she touched the lives around her. She was rich in love and generosity.
We miss her more than words can express. Not being able to say goodbye is a pain we carry every day. But we will honour her memory, speak her name with pride, and live by the values she instilled in us.
Mum’s story matters. Her life mattered. We ask everyone who hears her story to help us keep her name and memory alive.”
