Ady Dayman retains ‘Samosa King’ title for sixth year running

This year’s National Samosa Week culminated in a samosa eating competition at Geoffery’s in Leicester, where dozens took on the mouth watering charity challenge.

However, despite their best efforts no-one was able to beat the record set by Radio Leicester’s Ady Dayman back in 2018.

Mr Dayman, the reigning ‘Samosa King’ was able to devour 15 in ten minutes, beating the effort of his nearest rival, who managed 11 on Saturday (April 13).

He was presented with his crown on Tuesday (April 16) live on air.

Responding to the news, Ady said: “I am absolutely delighted to retain my title of being Samosa King for the sixth year. Being Leicester born and bred I think this is my greatest achievement ever!”

Dozens of competitors attended the restaurant, on Leicester’s Belgrave Road, from as far away as Derby, Hinckley, Loughborough and Peterborough.

Next year’s National Samosa Week will take place from April 7-13th, with a big festival planned in London.
