CATS BEING SHOT IN MELTON

Increased patrols are being carried out in Melton following a number of reports of cats being shot in and around the area.

On Tuesday, April 19, a report was received that a cat had been shot, with what is believed to be, an air rifle in the area of Willoughby Close, leaving it seriously injured.

The shooting happened close to two other incidents, which are reported to have taken place over the same time period.

These are said to have taken place in the Nottingham Road and Cedar Drive areas.

“We are carrying out increased proactive patrols following reports of a number of cats being shot in and around Melton”, said a spokesman for Melton Police.

“Such incidents are taken extremely seriously and we’re asking our communities to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities or further incidents to us”.

Anyone with information, should call Leicester Police on 101.
