A cannabis farm was shut down in Leicester this weekend, with officers from Leicestershire Police saying the dangerous set up was found “just in time.”
The cannabis grow was discovered in Buckminster Road, in Woodgate, Leicester, yesterday (Sunday, September 4).
Leicestershire Police found a series of overloaded plugs inside the property, something which was described as a “fire hazard.”
Officers from West Leicester Police division addressed the issue that they say is common in every grow they have found.
Posting on Twitter, they warned of factory fires from the electrical overload and the risk of the fire spreading next door. Three pictures were posted showing the cannabis plants alongside the many plug sockets used for the lamps to grow the weed.
The tweet said: “Cannabis grow found just in time on Buckminster Road. Electric bypassed. Additional sockets added and overloaded. This is is found in every grow we’ve found.
“Factories have caught fire and have put those living next door at serious risk. Would you want this next door to you?”
