A motorcyclist has died following a collision in Peatling Parva.
The incident happened in Peatling Road shortly before 9am yesterday (Tuesday, June 7), and involved a red Volvo XC40 and a black Royal Enfield motorcycle. The motorcyclist – a man in his 30s – was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following enquiries, detectives from Leicestershire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are appealing for the occupants of two cars to come forward.
They would like to identify the occupants of a metallic red Mercedes A-Class hatchback and a dark-coloured Volkswagen Tiguan, which were both travelling along Peatling Road and Ashby Road – in the direction of Peatling Parva – moments before the collision occurred.
Detective Sergeant Jon Putnam, from the SCIU, said: “Our investigation is continuing and from what we know so far, I believe the occupants of both these cars may have seen what happened – but they have not yet spoken to police.
“I’m appealing for those people to get in touch as I believe they are key witnesses who could assist us with further enquiries. If you were in one of those vehicles, then please contact us.”
