DOG SEEKS HOME AFTER 290 DAYS SPENT AT RSPCA LEICESTER

A Handsome Husky crossbreed dog is waiting for his pawfect forever home, after spending over 290 days at Leicester’s RSPCA animal centre.

The nine year old crossbreed, called Bruno, has been cared for by the team at Leicester’s RSPCA Woodside Animal Centre, on Scudamore Road for more than 290 days, and now much like his namesake from Disney’s smash hit film Encanto, he is hoping to be brought home to be part of a loving family.

Bruno was collected by RSPCA rescuers a year ago, after he was given up by his previous owners who were unable to look after him properly. When he arrived at RSPCA Woodside, he was underweight, had a matted coat and was very shy, according to the staff there.

“Bruno is such a special boy and from the moment he arrived, we knew there was something ‘Madrigal’ about him,” said Amanda Lovett, manager of the centre.

“He hadn’t had the best start in life, but thankfully, our team worked their magic on the pooch, and with lots of patience, care and training, Bruno has transformed into a gentle, loving boy.

“We can’t understand why he hasn’t been adopted after almost a year in our care, but we’re really hoping that our Bruno will get his gift very soon – a loving home,” she added.

“He’s a very inquisitive boy who loves to play and really enjoys a fuss, but he also loves to watch the goings on at the rehoming centre from his kennel.

“He’s a fantastic character and although we love him and will miss him, we can’t wait to see him settle into the home he really deserves.”

The team are looking for potential owners who have experience with large breeds, and a home with just adults.

He may be able to live with another dog if they are suited and get along well.
