Finalists Revealed for the Sixth Annual Leicestershire Curry Awards! 

The finalists for the sixth annual Leicestershire Curry Awards have been revealed – and the competition is hotter and more exciting than ever!

This year, hundreds of restaurants and takeaways entered the annual culinary event, with just 42 making it to the final across eight categories.

The competition has been rebranded for 2023, to encourage more restaurants and takeaways from across the county to take part, as opposed to just the city.

Last night, (Monday, July 31), business owners gathered at BBC Radio Leicester to hear whether their establishment had made the cut.

Romail Gulzar, founder of the Leicestershire Curry Awards congratulated all of this year’s finalists, who will go through to the glittering final on September 25, at Leicester’s Athena. 

“It promises to be the most exciting final yet!” he said.

“By rebranding the event, we have opened up the competition, and have more businesses than ever before jumping on board. 

“Congratulations to all this year’s finalists and I look forward to seeing who triumphs in the final!”

Mr Gulzar also wished to thank the sponsors, supporters and media partners, who have made this year’s Leicestershire Curry Awards possible.

The two charities who will benefit from this year’s event are: Leicestershire Police HQ – Memorial Garden Project and CRP – Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed.
