Warner, 23, studied at Brooksby Melton College before landing his role in the soap in 2018.

That year he bagged the award for Best Soap Newcomer for his portrayal of ‘Romeo’ – a character who was introduced as the long-lost son of established character James (Gregory Finnegan).

Speaking ahead of his jungle appearance, he said: “I’m absolutely buzzing. Twelve-year-old me is going to be pinching himself.

“I still can’t believe I am actually going to be in Australia doing I’m a Celebrity. It’s not sunk in yet and it feels surreal.

“And now it is getting closer, I want to enjoy everything about it,” he added.

“I have told all my friends to vote for me because I will feel like I have wasted it if I don’t do the trials. The trials are part of the I’m a Celebrity experience.”

Talking about the biggest challenges he’ll have to face, Warner admitted that he’s not looking forward to missing out on his haircuts.

“I’m still expecting there to be little hairdressers in there, so I can nip for a trim!” he said.

Snakes are also something he’s not looking forward to encountering in the jungle, he revealed.

“Snakes ain’t got legs and they can run really fast. That freaks me out,” he said.

The Leicester-born star is a big football fan so is worried about missing the World Cup while out in the jungle

However, he says that he’ll be organising games and fun while in camp. He’s also warned that he’s not the best cook.
