Leicester Mela Festival is set to return to Abbey Park this August for the first time in 20 years with organisers confident that it’ll be worth the wait!

Thousands of people are expected to enjoy a day of Indian inspired arts, music, culture, food, fashion and entertainment.

Abbey Park will feature a main entertainment stage, showcasing some of the best international artists as well as local talent, from dancers, musicians and singers.

Headliners this year include Apache Indian, Sardara Gill, Metz N Trix, DJ Lyan and more to be confirmed.

A variety of stalls selling clothes, jewellery, confectionery, food and more will also be sold at the Mela Bazaar.

To cater for all the family, the event will also include funfair rides, a DJ tent as well as a kid’s village full of fun activities, arts and crafts.

“We are incredibly excited about the upcoming Mela at Abbey Park! After a 20 year hiatus, this event promises to be an unforgettable experience for all attendees,” said Rana Rajput, Project Manager.

“Visitors can look forward to vibrant cultural displays, mouth watering food, captivating performances, and a warm, festive atmosphere. It’s been a long wait but we’re confident that this Mela will be worth it, bringing our community together to celebrate and create lasting memories. See you there!”
