Yakub Ismail, Neighbourhood Policing Commander for East Leicester, confirmed that the reason for the lockdown, was due to a fight between two students.

“Officers were called to Avanti Fields School, Leicester, just after 11.20 this morning following a report of a fight between two students,” he said.

“During the fight no one was injured. The police attended and remain at the school to reassure parents or anyone concerned.”
