A man died in a Leicester street earlier today, after ‘taking ill’ whilst travelling in a vehicle, police have confirmed.
The incident happened in Painter Street, at around 2:24pm today (September 6).

Leicestershire Police put a cordon in place at the scene, which is close to Leicester College’s Abbey Park Campus.
Confirming the incident: a Leicestershire Police spokesperson said: “Police received a call at 2.24pm today (6 September) from East Midlands Ambulance Service regarding a man who had taken ill in a vehicle in Painter Street, Leicester.
“Officers attended the scene and the man was later pronounced deceased.
“Enquiries are continuing surrounding the death which is currently being treated as unexplained.”
