Shocking Fly-Tip in Leicester

Piles of human waste and shattered glass have been found among heaps of illegally dumped rubbish in Leicester.

Police have said they wished they’d brought “a hazmat suit” after seeing the appalling state of the flytip.

The discovery, made in Westcotes yesterday (Tuesday, February 4), was shared by officers, who revealed the shocking extent of the mess. Photographs of the waste, scattered across a stretch of land, show just how serious the situation is.

Among the rubbish were human waste, broken glass, and dangerous “booby traps” made from sharp metal. Officers emphasized that the flytip presents a “serious health and safety risk.”

In a social media post, Leicestershire Police wrote: “Westcotes officers responded to concerns from the community, and honestly… we wish we’d brought a hazmat suit!

“As you can see in the photos, there’s an overwhelming amount of dumped waste, broken glass, human waste, and scrap metal lurking like traps. Not only is it an eyesore, but it’s also a serious health and safety hazard. We’re working closely with the council to clean up the mess and prevent future illegal dumping. If you see someone fly-tipping, don’t just shake your head—report it to the council!”
