Seven local dance groups, including Shiamak Dance, Curve Young Company and University of Leicester Ballroom Dance, performed routines to iconic music tracks from the seven decades.

Lord Mayor of Leicester Cllr Deepak Bajaj was among the hundreds of people who turned out to enjoy the incredible atmosphere, which saw huge smiles and Union Jacks aplenty.

“Dance for the Queen is our way of coming together as a community to share, celebrate and showcase the best of Leicester through dance”, he said.

“Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee is a time to celebrate success and longevity and to reflect on the huge commitment the Queen has made to serving her country throughout her long reign”.
