Melton Community Pub Set to Reopen Following £240,000 Makeover

A popular Melton Mowbray pub is set to reopen tomorrow, following a major £242,000 investment.

The Generous Briton or ‘Genny B’, as it is more affectionately referred to by locals, will reopen on Thursday 31st August, with new local operators Jane and Beth Pascoe taking charge.

The pair have lived in the area for 30 years and are passionate about establishing strong relationships with fellow residents to help foster a friendly social hub for the Melton community to enjoy.

Jane and Beth have nine years’ experience within the hospitality sector and, alongside manager Kieran and team, Ella, Aimee and Dylan, are excited to welcome customers old and new to the pub.

Inside, the pub has undergone a complete transformation to create a brand-new look. with fresh décor to appeal to the local community.  With a complete interior redecoration, the pub will feature a brand-new bar, flooring, and furniture throughout. Outside, the beer garden has been redeveloped with new lighting and seating to create an inviting experience all year round.

For the opening weekend, the pub will be celebrating with live music, and karaoke, as well as a pork pie and prosecco reception.

Operators Jane and Beth are excited about the reopening and say: “The pub looks fantastic, we love the transformation and are really excited to be able to get behind the bar, welcome back our customers, and support the local community.  We’ll start by collecting food for the local food bank and raising funds to have a lifesaving defibrillator installed.  Pubs are the hub of their community, and we can’t wait to be a contributory part of that.”

Alongside fantastic drinks offerings, The Generous Briton will host pool and darts team league evenings.  Customers can expect to enjoy regular weekend entertainment such as Thursday karaoke, live acts, theme nights, bingo and DJ nights.
