A former Leicestershire detective constable is to appear before a gross misconduct hearing, after being accused of accessing police systems without authority and sharing confidential information.
The officer, who has not been named publicly by the force, will face a gross misconduct hearing tomorrow (Wednesday, February 12).

It is alleged that in August 2023, the former DC accessed confidential police force systems for information concerning the arrest of a person known to him without a policing purpose and/or lawful authority.
It is also alleged that the former officer then disclosed confidential policing information to a member of the public, known to him, without a policing purpose and/or lawful authority.
It is alleged this breached standards of professional behaviour namely discreditable conduct; confidentiality; honesty and integrity; and orders and instructions.
The hearing will take place tomorrow at Leicestershire Police Force Headquarters at 10am.
