Misconduct Hearing for Police Constable Following Fight in Leicestershire Pub

A Leicestershire police constable is due to appear before a gross misconduct hearing after allegedly getting involved in a fight at a pub. 

It is alleged that last January 22, while off-duty, the unnamed officer was socialising at a pub in Croft, when he became involved in a  he got onto a disagreement with another person who was known to him.

It is alleged that this resulted in the officer becoming involved in a fight with the person during which both men threw punches at each other.

He is also alleged to have made a threat following the confrontation.

As a result of the incident, he is alleged to have breached the standards of professional behaviour, namely authority, respect and courtesy and discreditable conduct.

The hearing into his conduct will take place at Leicestershire Force Headquarters, Enderby on Monday 26 June at 10am. It is scheduled to last for four days.

The Legally Qualified Chair of the panel has directed that the officer will maintain anonymity during the hearing “in order to protect the welfare of all involved.”
